Overview
Introduction to Security. Learners will be able to perform basic tasks
to secure network routers and switches using with Cisco IOS features
available through the command line interface and web-based GUIs.
You will learn basic concepts such as network security policies, network
attack methods, and threat mitigation techniques, along with the Cisco
security product portfolio. You will examine the most important security
technologies, including hardening Cisco IOS routers and switches against
attack, Layer 2 security, stateful firewalling, Intrusion Prevention
Systems (IPS), and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
SND 2.0 course will prepare you for the 642-552 SND exam.
Exam 642-552 SND is required for the Cisco Certified Security
Professional certification and for several Cisco Qualified Specialist
certifications, including: Cisco Firewall Specialist, Cisco IPS
Specialist, and Cisco VPN Specialist.

Prerequisite
Learners considered for this training will have demonstrated
competencies (knowledge, skills and attitudes) as covered in the ICND
course or equivalent to the following:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
Working knowledge of the Windows operating system
Working knowledge of Cisco IOS networking and concepts.
