Oracle9i Database Administrator Certified Associate
The Oracle Dba Certification Program begins with the Associate level. At this
apprentice skill level, Oracle Certified Associates have a foundation of
knowledge that will allow them to act as a junior team member working with
database administrators or application developers. Earning your Oracle
Certified Associate credential as a beginning IT professional will give
you recognition for your foundation of knowledge using Oracle
technologies. This recognition will differentiate you from those without
any credentials, and can help you build your career by obtaining access to
entry-level opportunities.
To become an Oracle Certified Associate, you must complete this oracle
training and pass the exams required
for the Oracle Certified Associate level of your selected job role. To
earn the Oracle9i Database Administrator Certified Associate credential,
two exams are required; the first one can be taken via the Internet, while
subsequent exams must be taken in a proctored environment. You must pass
the following two exams to obtain your Oracle9i DBA OCA credential:

If you previously passed exam #1Z0-001, you will not be required to pass

Requirement
Oracle customers and business partners are demanding hands-on experience -
with all aspects of Oracle's database - from their Oracle Certified
Professionals. In order to meet our commitment to our customers and
constituents, Oracle University has recently made a significant investment
in its Certification Program. Three distinct changes are being rolled out
with the goal of increasing the level of quality of our certification
skill and ability benchmarks:
The first step toward earning the highly respected Oracle Certifed
Professional (OCP) status is to earn your Oracle9i DBA Certified Associate
(OCA) credential by taking the Oracle training courses. When you are ready to advance your Oracle9i database
expertise then it's time to take the next step toward becoming an OCP.
Candidates pursuing their Oracle9i DBA OCP must pass the following two
exams as well as completing at least one Oracle University hands-on course
within the Oracle9i DBA learning path to obtain their Oracle9i DBA OCP
credential.

Registration Prerequisites
Prior to registering for the Oracle Certified Master practicum, a
candidate must complete two requirements. They must have completed their
Oracle9i Database Administrator Certified Professional (OCP). A candidate
must have taken two advanced DBA courses from Oracle University. Advanced
courses are taught by top Oracle University instructors and offer hands-on
experience for topics that may be addressed during the practicum. Few
advanced courses are offered in an online format, however if available,
the equivalent online class is acceptable for candidacy to the OCM.
Oracle9i DBA OCP Upgrade Path
Upgrade exams for Oracle7.3, Oracle8 and Oracle8i DBA OCPs.
In order to make the process of staying current as an Oracle Certified
technical professional, those already certified on previous releases of
Oracle may upgrade to each future release by simply completing one
migration exam. Listed below are the migration exams that are currently
available to previously certified Oracle DBAs.
Please review the listings below for more specific information. Generally,
one exam is required for OCPs to upgrade to each new release of an Oracle
DBA track. For example, one exam upgrades the Oracle7.3 credential to
Oracle8, one exam upgrades the Oracle8 credential to Oracle8i, and one
exam upgrades the Oracle8i credential to Oracle9i.
Oracle7.3 and Oracle8 DBA OCPs now have another option to upgrade their
DBA OCP credential directly to Oracle9i: Exam #1Z0-035 Oracle9i DBA New
Features for Oracle7.3 and Oracle8 OCPs.
